Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hola .

i would like to show people only the last 3 posts from one category on the homepage?

Where can i edit this( in what file, in the theme? the homepage.php? )

Underneath i would like to display the last 3 post from an different category ..

More or less like this:

------------
Top website
-----------

Recent posts CAT-1 ( if you click on it you will see all of cat1)
lastpost 1 (from cat1)
lastpost 2 (from cat1)
lastpost 3 (from cat1)

Recent posts CAT-2 ( if you click on it you will see all of cat2)
lastpost 1 (from cat2)
lastpost 2 (from cat2)
lastpost 3 (from cat2)

Is that posible?

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
tehre is nothing in the theme that will allow you to do this. You could possibly code a page template of your own using index.php as a start. Upi might also look at the plugin 'Category Pages' (aka page2cat) as the start of a plugin to do what you want. Note the plugin seems abandoned ut might offer you a possibility of showing you the coding you are going to have to do.

Query Posts plugin would probably work but you'd need to create a widget area since I don't think you can insert it straight on a page. You also might have to do some CSS playing to get it to only show what you want (if you're using excerpts - you can also set it to lists, which seems to be what you want from your example).
