Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi

I upgraded to 3.5.3 and all was well until I installed some plugins in an attempt to speed up my admin pages which load so slowly I could walk round the block 10 times before one loads!

The plugins are WP-Optimize, WP-Super Cache Plus, WP-SmushIt and Crack Stack. Like an idiot I activated them all at the same time so I don't know which is the culprit and I've tried deactivating them together and separately but the result is the same.

Basically, my site has disappeared! All that remains is the page background colour but there is no header, no sidebars, no text, in fact nothing at all! If I use a different theme, then it's all there as normal.

The other thing I did was delete the previous version of Atahualpa as I didn't think it would be needed any more.

I tried deleting the theme and re-installing it but with the same result. I don't even mind if the original theme is reinstalled and I have to change all the settings to what I want again, so if that's the answer, please can someone tell me how to remove everything to do with the theme and start again.

Sorry about the ramble but I'm at my wits' end.

Also if anyone does know how to speed up Wordpress Admin, I'd be grateful. Mine just suddenly started going really slow when it had been fine and I hadn't made any changes. It's the same for all my sites.

Thanks

Liz

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
DO A DATABASE BACKUP! (use phpMyAdmin and do an export of the database - you could also try the plugin wp-dbmanager)

This could be a caching issue, did you clean out the caches from these plugins?

The speed issue is most likely an issue with your host, they may have added more sites to the server you are running from.

Who is your host?
what is the URL?
when you activate Atahualpa 3.5.3 - can you see the options in the backend
Since you are willing to recreate the entire site, try this first. go to ATO->Export/Import settings->Delete the option 'bfa_ata4' and press the 'Delete bfa_ata4' button and then look at the site.

Hi

Thanks for replying. I seem to have fixed the speed issue by uninstalling all the aforementioned plugins and installing W3 Total Cache.

To answer your questions:

Hostgator
http://www.asian-food.lizebiz.com
Yes I can see the options
Yes I have cleared all the caches
Have deleted 'bfa_ata4' - I still see nothing except a plain page of the colour I chose. I've also cleared my browser cache.

The page source is attached - as you can see there's nothing much there. I need to change the theme now so that visitors don't get a blank page!

Thanks again

you have an error message in the txt file

Fatal error:Call to undefined function ciii_category_images() in /home/lizc/public_html/asian-food/wp-
content/themes/atahualpa353/functions.php(551):eval()'d code on line 1

It would look like you have something in the options calling the function ciii_category_images (the Category Images II plugin??) that is no longer there

Thank you so much, that's fixed it. I had disabled the plugin but I need to investigate why the theme had picked up on it as actually it never did what I wanted so isn't used.

Thanks again.

this is one of those cases that the computer did what you told it to do, not what you wanted it to do

If you had put it into one of the theme options, Atahualpa would have tried to call it even if the plugin was disabled. You could have used something like this
HTML Code:
if function_exists('ciii_category_images')) { ciii_category_images();
this way Atahualpa would test to see if the function existed before attempting to call it

Glad this solved your problem.
