Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

hi - i'm a newbie non-techie and JUST getting started trying to set up a site/blog with wordpress for the first time. i'm using the Atahualpa theme and have what should be a very basic question that i'm not clear about... it looks like style.css is the "style sheet file" but it seems to have nothing in it while css.php looks like it has lots of stuff in it... which file do i look in and edit to change stuff like the top nav items/functionality, right sidebars, footer, top/banner image, etc. thanks so much for any answers!

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
you don't edit either, you look thru the theme options and let the theme do it for you.

Take a little time and look at each of the theme option pages, you be surprised with the options and if there is some css that you can't set as an option, you can add it to the CSS Inserts so it becomes an option.

hi - thanks for your reply, but i'm not totally following since i've never used WP before, only Movable type...

take a little time and look at each of the theme option pages,

....... where do i "see" these? i looked in the theme directory via FTP and don't see any "pages"?

you be surprised with the options and if there is some css that you can't set as an option, you can add it to the CSS Inserts

...... what is a CSS Insert and where do i find them?

thanks so much!

so it becomes an option.

fyi - these are the things i want/need to do and i thought i do them all by changing stuff in the style sheet file (that's how it works in MT)

Change the background and font color and order of the top nav items (created from draft static pages i created)

remove the comments RSS tag on the upper right

change image in the top banner

remove the uncategorized phrase and color bar below the top image/banner

edit the look of, i.e. border and font colors and sizes of the right sidebars

change the links/copy in the right sidebars

delete some right sidebars

edit the contents/copy/links in the default footer
