RSS feed from Magento into Header Widget formatting problem

Hi,

I have a problem for which I cannot find a solution. Perhaps I am looking with the wrong search terms - any help would be much appreciated.

I have wordpress (Atahualpa 3.4.6 and WP 2.9.2) and Magento. I am trying to display the Magento new products RSS in the header area with a slider (ideal case).

For starters I have just tried to get the rss feed to go into a header area (with the RSS widget). What happens though is that all products (thumbnails) are shown in a vertical list rather than horizontally besides each other.

Any ideas how that can be done?

The cream on this would be, if I could get a horizontal display of my new product RSS to have a left and right slide arrow so that people could horizontally scroll among the new products. Ideally, I would then link the whole thing to a new products page (back in Magento).

Here you can see a mock up done with a table in the administer widget of what I would like it to look like (minus the slidey bit which I don't know how to do).
