I would like to show pictures in excerpt,
I have read different links about this, and the solutions seems to be different depending on which version of ata we are working on.

I found out that it is possible to keep pics in excerpt with ata 3.4.6 in this thread, but my english and my knowledge of coding don't enable me to let me know exactly what to do in order to fix this

If you look at ATO>Style Excerpts you will see where you can set html tags that don't get stripped out in excerpts. For instance if you want an image in an excerpt you don't want the <img> tag stripped and thus the image would show. That is a guess as to what happens as I haven't tested so I would say play around with that and see what happens.

Is there a problem ?
I mean that I've tried different number of words for the length of the excerpt (from 5 to 500 words) but the excerpt never changes, it is always +- 50 words ! how does it come ?

ni, I've put back the full post in front page, as the excerpt options didn't work, it wasn't nice.
As I said i couldn't even change the number of words of the excerpt of the frontpage, I tried, but the excerpt always remained the same.

but i noticed that it worked somehow on the archive page. please check on the month of may (mai) :

on this archive page I noticed :

_ if I put "5 words" i get no images

_ if I put "55" words (the page you see right now is set on "55", so you can see it) I get some images just for one on 3 posts

_ if I put "555" words it is quite the same as with "55 words" : the length of the text is the same (50 words) excepted for the last post : I get all of its images + the full text...

how strange isn't it ? there's something I'm missing...

The issue is probably related to the issue of what is a word.

When you use excerpts (if you hand craft an excerpt - this doesn't apply) Atahualpa trys to emulate WordPress's built in automatic excerpt creation. WordPress will create a 55 word excerpt, but it excludes ALL HTML.

Atahualpa does this with the exception that you can specify what HTML to include in the excerpt. This now poses a dilemma. What is a 'word' should the wotds in the HTML statements be counted? what about a short code? should the short code be exploded and then counted? but a short code will be processed some plugin - what then?

There was a bug in the excerpts (http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=3377) but 3.4.7 should be coming out shortly and should have the fix incorporated so I'd wait for it.

ok. but what about this 3rd post for which the text reacts to the number of words that i choose ? it is exactly shaped as the other ones (pics then text) but it does work with this one...
