How do I put the search box and subscribe buttons within header (not logo line)?

My header has two custom images that, together, do not go all the way across the page. So, there is plenty of blank space to the right of the 2nd image. I'd like to put the search box and RSS/email subscribe buttons there (plus a twitter button if possible) - instead of on the "logo" line, but can't figure out to do it.
