Text in bar%

Hello Friends,
I would like to put some text in bar1% how do I do that Please?.
If anybody has a code to display the current date year and time in bar2% EXAMPLE
Today is Monday the 14th of September 2009 and the current week is 38 an we happen to on the 257th day of 2009 and the time is 11.55.09 am GMT would be very helpful.
My unerstanding is bar%1 and bar2% are just empty and I beleive the only purpose they are serving is decorative I would like to make more useful hence the 2 above questions.
Can any of experts help?

There is a partial answer to your question in this thread about adding text to one of the horizontal bars: http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=3434. Same principle.

There are many javascripts that display the date and time, as well as some jQuery plugins. (Not sure about one that combines all the things you want to display in the bar.) You can add a script tag in the <head> using ATO > ADD HTML/CSS inserts > HTML Inserts: Header. However, I'm not a PHP expert, so am uncertain about adding a script call inside horbar2 content.
