when you removed the widget area, did you increase the number of columns of the content area? Have you read thru the onscreen documentation explaining the grid system?

I read this post. It was really helpful. So should I make two widget areas , and one center column ...so as to align my page in the center.

look, you deleted the widget area which had a class 'col5' and the content area has a class of 'col7' - now if you have to have 12 columns, what do you think you have to do?

Sir actually the widget area had class 'col4' and content area had class 'col8'
now if i delete the widget area one..
should I make two widget areas of class 'col2' each for left and right , so that my content is in center, coz the sum has to be 12
I don't know Sir, i'm really confused..
all I know is that the sum of col should be 12

Juggledad's right, try different things on a test page, and see what you like. Giving your div's different bg colors on your tests makes it very easy to see the layout.
