Hi,
I started using SEO Doctor to see if my SEO was working as I'm putting a fair bit of time into the keywords etc. I noticed that I don't have an H1 tag on dynamic/multi post pages and I believe this is because I'm using a header image without a blog title.
I searched for using a header image with H1 tag and some places suggested it wasn't good practice and some said it's fine as they crawl the alt tag.
Is there a way of doing that in the theme options or do I have to alter one of the theme files?
Many thanks

What is your url?
Are you using the Atahualpa SEO settings?
If you are using the Atahualpa SEO settings what are they set at?
Are you using an SEO plugin?
If you are using an SEO plugin are there any settings in it for h1/h2 tags?

I wouldn't be too concerned about having H1 tags on the multi-post pages. You can go crazy trying t6 twiddle tags and such for the "best" SEO. I would just stick with having good titles on the posts and good content. I also think even if you could add H1 tags on the multi-post pages it wouldn't do much good and could negatively impact SEO.

ok so it's no problem if there's no H1 tag on the post pages either but there's a H2 tag?
Thanks for the reply

There are H1 tags on the single post pages.

On a 'single post' page OR a 'page' page, the page/post title is assigned the <h1> (unless you changed the option: ato->Configure SEO->Make Post/Page Titles H1?)
On 'multi post' pages, the blog title gets the <h1> and all post titles are <h2>

Sorry @lmilesw I meant there are H1's but not the 'proper' H1 blog title/header.
@juggledad yep I've got the post titles as H1 on the post/pages.
I might look for a way of having the H1 tagged title and the header image at the same time which will give a little SEO boost (every little helps!) and swap the post titles to H2.
thanks again.

oh yes. So if I manage to get the H1 tag (and image) on the multipost page then I should turn off the 'use post titles as H1 tag' on post pages?

I've just noticed something else that isn't related to the H1 tag
Since updating WP, themes and plugins, links in previous posts have been messed up. Not all of them but a few. I'm wondering if it might have anything to do with Wp changing the wysiwyg editor from HTML to text?
Should I post this in a new thread?

Nothing changed other than calling HTML Text as WP thought HTML didn't mean much to many. I don't know why some links would be messed up.

I'm stumped too, I've noticed that spacing is handled differently. Seems more like Word now. Also in one post my wife put up there were divs which she wouldn't have put in there as she doesn't know what they are.
I've manually gone and cleaned up the errors but it's not a major issue I just hope I don't have to do that on each update.
thanks again for your help, much appreciated!
