I have the hosting company's support people looking into this, but I'm worried. Just now, I tried to go to larchmontgazette.com, and got only this:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/home/web/users/xxxxxx/html/xxx/wp-settings.php on line 193
I haven't touched wp-settings! But it does look like somebody did something to it today. Anybody ever see this before?
I wonder if just over-writing it with an old, safe copy of that file would fix it? Or is it getting written to all the time?

Take a look at the line and compare it to a 'good' copy. You may have been hacked.

Thanks, JD. I found out what happened: I had been using the site's file manager to do some search/replace for a single word over several files, but I mistakenly didn't specify the right folder. I've deleted parts of important files, apparently; the support guy is doing his best to fix my idiotic mistake.
Lord.

Phew! Glad that's all and that it's not a hack!

It all seems to be back. Whew!
This makes me all the more glad I have the hosting with Prohosting.com. They aren't the cheapest, but they are the best when it comes to support.
