Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi guys,

I need some help with styling Atahualpa for a magazine style website.
I would like to make something close to http://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/. While the overall style seems to be not difficult to achieve via the ATO, I am stuck the the Frontpage magazine layout.

I tried the solutions recommended in the other threads related to a Magazine Layout, but they failed (including the plugin "Site Layout Customizer" - in only allows item layout on two columns). The 3 sidebars solution also failed.

Any thoughts or plugins you might recommend to achieve a L&F as http://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/???

Thanks in advance.

You could use Juggledad's custom query template.

Thanks lmilesw,

I am trying to make it work (based on Juggledad's article here - http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=17493), but I miss one main point - what is the file where all that code and it's variables goes? Is it home.php?

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
the template is now shipped with the theme (since 3.7.8)
you add a page, select the page template and add custom fields to that page (if you don't see the custom fields section, check the screen options tab at the top rght of the screen)

Hi juggledad,

Thanks, I got it to work.

I still have another question though ... In this example - http://CooliStuff.com - I set the column width to 300px for a test (via a CSS insert as you explain @ http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=17493).

The columns are 300px now, but they are all left justified. Is it possible to have them spread on the entire width of the page? What I mean by this is that my total page width is 1050px, columns are 300 px, there should be 75px between column 1 and 2 and between columns 2 and 3.

Can this be achieved?

Thanks in advance

Hi Juggledad,

Thanks for the overall help.
I achieved the control of the distance between the columns via the ATO / Posts & Pages / Style Posts and Pages / Post Container ---> I added the following "margin: 10px 20px 25px 10px;".

From my side, we can close this thread.
