Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Different Menu title than Page title?

I'd like a page to have the heading "About Our Company" but be listed in the top menu as "About".

For a couple years I've been using a plugin called WP Title 2 to make alternate page titles. Lately, it's kind of broken, however.

I was looking at this thread for how to do it in Atahualpa, but I'm afraid it's out of date:

As I understand it, with other themes you're supposed to use custom menus to handle this issue. With Atahualpa's built-in top menu, I don't know how to do this.

Any ideas?

You can use Wordpress custom menus or you can do this from within Atahualpa.

To do it from within the theme you first have to turn on the Atahualpa seo options.

Go to "configure seo" in the Atahualpa Theme Options and set "Use Post/Page Options" to yes.

Now go back to your "about our company" page.

Change the TITLE of the page, in the box ABOVE the post content to "about". That will change the tab in the menubar.

Underneath the box with the content of your page you will now see a set of "Atahualpa page options". This is where you put the heading that you want to appear on the page.

Thanks! This is what I remember from Atahualpa a couple years ago -- maybe it used to be on by default? Or I just conveniently forgot that the SEO panel was where you turned it on.

Now I can stop using WP Title 2 on several blogs...
