I am using a local host (xampp) to build my site and I can't figure out how to change the images in the header. I have tried adding my images to the images folder but it is not working.

what version of Atahualpa and WP?
do any images show up?
If you swap to twenty-eleven can you upload an image and does it show?
Have you checked your file/folder permissions.

Atahualpa 3.7.7
Wordpress 3.4.1
Yes, images do show up in the header. They are the default images. I have tried too to rename one of the default images and give that file name to the image I would like to show up but this too did not work.
Yes, the image will show in twenty eleven.
I don't know how to check my file/folder permissions.

If you removed the default images from the atahualpa/images/header folder, but they keep showing up, you must ahve another install on your computer somewhere that it is grabbing the images from.
Go view your home page and then look at teh page source and you should be able to see the url for teh images (look after the <body> statement)

Here is the url where the images are coming from:
url('http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/header/IMG_1496.jpg')
I have tried to change my image name to IMG_1496.jpg (default) but that didn't work. What is confusing me more here is that the images that rotate through the slide show are not in that folder anymore. In fact, they are not even on my computer anymore...........I emptied them from the recycle bin.

is 'localhost' actually mapping to where you think it should?
what happens if you empty the atahualpa/images/header folder?
this could be a xampp setting (in which case I will be of no help since I run on a MAC and local hosting works fine for me)

I deleted the folder and the images are still there.
Can you advice me on how to determine if my localhost is mapping to where it should?
