Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

I searched the forums a bit but couldn't find anything else like this.

My site: http://pittsburghpermaculture.org is displaying a link to "philosophy paper" which we did not put there, nor can I figure out how to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Troy

did you try disabling all your plugins to see if one is causing it?

Are there any indications you may have been hacked?

A new link for viagra has appeared too. I tried disabling all the plug-ins, but the links remain.

Indications that I have been hacked? other than the links i didn't put there?

It also seems important to note this is only on the home page as far as I can tell.

I would look through all the theme options for any code you didn't put there. Especially in the Add CSS/HTML Inserts section.

In the mean time you could add the following to CSS Inserts to hide the links.
HTML Code:
.header_blogcontent {
    display: none;
}

So I did try to go through every section available in the editor and tried to "find" the text "philosophy" but nothing showed up.

I looked at the add code section of the theme editor and there was nothing there, but I did put the code that you suggested in place and it did remove the links.

This is just a cover-up right? Any ideas as to how this is actually happening or if I should even worry now that it is "fixed"?

Thanks,
Troy

Just a cover up, it could be you were hacked. Try swapping to twenty ten and see if it happens. That will tell you if it is the theme or Wordpress.

What do you mean by "swapping to twenty ten"?

go to the theme picker and temporally switch to the 'twenty-ten' or 'twenty-eleven' theme (WordPress default themes) and see if the issue still shows up.

If it doesn't them it may be something to do with the theme, if it does, then it isn't related to the theme and that narrows the issue down some.

If it is still there when you swap themes then it is not a theme issue and you probably have been hacked.

I would do a google search 'wordpress hacked' and read about what to do.
