My site was hacked but I recovered control however now my Pages and Menu are not correct.

To recover from being hacked I created a new user and removed the existing rogue users. My user ID in phpmyadmin - wp_users - now shows only me as id 6 (as administrator)

I also replaced/renewed the secret key in .../public_html/wp-config.php by the use of {@link https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/ WordPress.org secret-key service}

Prior to replacing the key (i'm sure I checked) the site was good.

All my pages now are suddenly in the 'Trash' folder.

On bringing the 'Home' page out of trash and going into Edit Page no contents are shown but when I preview the page it is correct except that pics do not appear but pic positions are shown

I have obviously screwed things up in the database/s any advice would be welcome.

Can you still see the images via FTP? It looks like there are none in the uploads folder.

Do a database backup! Then no matter what you do you can get back to now.

Do you have a prior db backup?
