After 2 months of operation with no problems, all of a sudden I'm getting a FATAL ERROR with my Network Solutions hosted site, www.yba.com.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /data/20/1/153/130/1968782/user/2150206/htdocs/www/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/functions/bfa_get_options.php on line 507

I am using ATA version 3.6.5, and I have installed all the patches that were available in August 2011.

Before I call and get the run around at NS I thought I'd ask the guru's here for any ideas.

First did you add any plugins or make any changes recently? If not then I would do a "MANUAL" upgrade to 3.7.1. As long as you are not using any php code in the theme options other than for a new widget area it should work fine. Here are the steps for a manual upgrade.

3.6.5 may have been a release with "issues". I am not certain an upgrade will take care of your problem but it is one thing to eliminate.

You are running out of memory on the server. You need to ask for more - you might be able to do this in the php.ini (search their site for an FAQ) or ask them for more or else reduce the amount you are using. Each plugin uses memory as do the themes, try shutting off a plugin or two.

I created a new php.ini with these settings:

memory_limit = 64M
output_buffering = 2048

and now everything works just fine.
