Should I be able to have the header images in my Atahualpa 3.6.7 site do Javascript rotation and crossfade with a randomly selected order of images?
I’ve looked but I don’t find my exact question. Apologies if I didn’t look hard enough.
Working on this URL: http://blogs.cuit.columbia.edu/medren/
The site is currently using options that change the header image randomly when the page is loaded.
With the following settings, I thought I could add image rotation and crossfade: ATO ->Header Image: Rotate header images with Javascript: 20; Sort or shuffle header images: Shuffle; Fade in/out header images with Javascript: 1; Preload header images for Javascript rotation: No -- Result: Images rotate/crossfade, but in the order of the image names. The same initial image or two is all most visitors see (of the 27 cool images available) before they leave the page…and then the same first image appears every time as they continue browsing the site.
With the following settings: Rotate header images with Javascript: 0; Sort or shuffle header images: Shuffle; Fade in/out header images with Javascript: 0 -- Result: At each page load, a new image is selected randomly and displayed without rotation while the viewer stays on that page. (What I would expect with those settings.)
On ATO ->Configure CSS & JS the settings are: CSS and Javascript: External. CSS and Allow Debugging: No. (These were chosen to fix a type spacing bug, answer found on this forum. )
This is a university environment where I can’t work with the js. What I hope you can give me is a combination of options that works to do randomly ordered rotation.
I’m relying on Atahualpa for its flexibility. Thanks.
