Usually when I want to increase the size of the menu I add a height to the div#menu1, but when I do that, it's causing my rotating header images to disappear, but it leaves a blank space where they belong.
I've tried padding to top and bottom, and margins as well, and those are having zero effect.

How can I change the height, because it is too narrow as it is?

One thing I did do, was add this code

ul.rMenu li a:link,
ul.rMenu li a:visited,
ul.rMenu li a:hover,
ul.rMenu li a:active,
ul.rMenu li {
background: transparent !important;
padding-right: 15px;
}

because I had an issue where the menu items themselves were a pixel or so taller than the menu bar background, and I wanted to space out the menu items. By making the menu items transparent, that fixed the problem of the menu items being too tall, but now I have the height issue for the whole menu bar.

Latest versions of both WP and Atahualpa.
Yes, I have all 3 bug fixes applied. I had to do that in order to get my rotating images to rotate.

are you trying to increase the font size (which will make the menu size bigger )?

Yes, I have increased the font size...it's about as big as I want it right now. I just want more space above and below the words so that the menu bar doesn't look so narrow.

why not set a border the same color as the background and play with it's size?
