Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

Hi,

I've designed a blog with Atahualpa, but am having trouble getting the three columns to display in a comparable width when I view it in different browsers. it display properly. In Firefox, they are wide, in IE, Chrome, Opera, and Safari, the 2 sidebars become very narrow. If I adjust the make them wider, the center bar gets too narrow in Firefox. The URL is deschenelaw.com. I am a relative newbie, so any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks.

For one thing you have the width set to a percentage so the site will display differently depending on how big your browser window is. If you set your site to a static width of say 1000px in ATO>Style & Configure Layout what happens?

Thanks for your suggestion. I changed it to 1000px. Looks like it fixed the problem in Firefox, and Chrome and Safari look basically OK (although slightly different than Firefox views). But in Opera, the sidebars are very, very narrow, and in IE the fonts in the sidebars are enlarged so that they go outside the sidebar view.

The site looks generally OK in all the browsers you mentioned for me. The enlarged font could probably be handled by using px instead of em for font sizes.

Thanks for checking on the browswers for me. At least I know I might be the only one having the viewing problem. Will try the font adjustment you suggested to fix the font size issue. Much appreciated!

One other thing to check is that each browser is set to view at 100%. As you may know, there is a setting in each browser to make the page bigger or smaller (font etc) to help the reading impaired. If you had it on in one browser and not the other, things would look different.

I don't know exactly where in each browser it is, you need to look thru the browser options and tabs.
