That is too long, I agree. When I went "live" the other day, my site was very slow at first, but not that slow. I asked the ISP guys to check, and they didn't find the problem. I did; it was a plugin that was causing most of the delay. Form Builder was the culprit, which is too bad because it's otherwise a nice, helpful plugin.

Try decativating and completely installing the plugins one at a time, testing speed each time.
