Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA
There will be no more development for Atahualpa (or any other theme), and no support. Also no new registrations. I turned off the donation system. I may turn the forum to read only if it gets abused for spam. Unfortunately I have no time for the forum or the themes. Thanks a lot to the people who helped in all these years, especially Larry and of course: Paul. Take care and stay healthy -- Flynn, Atahualpa developer, Sep 2021

I guess it's time for me to upgrade to Wordpress 3.0 and Atahualpa 3.5.1 ... right? What would you recommend to upgrade first, Wordpress or Atahualpa?

OSX 10.11.5 WP 4.x Atahualpa(all) Safari, Firefox, Chrome
I would
1) backup your database, the wp-content folder and wp-config.php
2) download atahualpa 3.5.1 unzipped it on your computer
3) delete the default header images, copy yours in
4) apply the BUGFIX's for 3.5.1 - see the 'New Version' forum
5) upload the atahualpa351 folder to the themes folder

At this point you can swap between the 3.4.6 version and the 3.5.1 version and check it all out.
Once it looks good
1) backup your database
2) do the wordpress upgrade
I always create an index.HTML that says, 'down for maintenance' and upload it to the wordpress root folder. Then I would do the upgrade, then rename index.html to indexmaint.html and you should be in business.

Thanks. First part done and tested. Favicon and logo also needed to be copied (!).

Where can I find the list of new features present in 3.5.1? I am coming from 3.4.6.

Look in the release announcements in the new version forum and the sub forum. Look at all the ones from 3.4.7 on

Hi Juggledad...

I am running 3.4.4 on fastharry.com and see all the little issues with the .9 and newer issues...

I am not an expert and my site is looking good so I do not want to upgrade. But I do want to upgrade to 3.0...

Can I do that and still run an older version like I am doing?...

Thanks

you still may run into some problems. My suggestion is to install 3.5.1 (http://wordpress.bytesforall.com/?p=92) alongside your current version. Apply all the current 3.5.1 fixes (http://forum.bytesforall.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12 threads with 'BUGFIX 351-xx)
then you can swap back and forth between teh two versions of the theme. Once you are comfortable, then upgrade to WP 3.0

...of course you are going to be doing backups of the database every step of the way...right?
