[SOLVED] Left Sidebar - 2 hidden widgets remain

I have added the Category widget to the right sidebar, as that is where it is required.

I have 2 unwanted Category Widgets displayed on the Left Sidebar - both Category and Archives widget are permanently afixed.

I have tried a workaround by adding to the Left Sidebar both Category and Archive widget, saving, and then removing. I have done this several times, along with CTRL F5 refresh.

To no effect!

I cannot remove the widgets from the sidebar (they are not listed on the dashboard left sidebar).

Help!

what version of WP?

Just uninstalled Wordpress and started again!

1) Installed Wordpress

2) Upgraded to Wordpress 2.8.1.

3) Installed Atahualpa 3.4.2.

Sadly, exactly the same issue!!

Categories Widget and Archives Widget - on Left Side Bar and cannot remove them!!

Try going back to the theme (or Atahualpa version) you had before, remove the widgets from the sidebars there, then switch back to the new version

I have done that, i.e. removed the widgets from the Default WP Theme

and then installed Atahaulpa 3.4.2.

And, each time, same issue.

Thankfully, I have managed to resolve this.
