Hi. Perhaps this is just an option I've missed somewhere, but is there an option to set the background colour of the whole site to light grey (just like on these forums).
This really is a great theme by the way. I've only just found wordpress and this is making it very easy!!! (So impressed I've just donated!)

Flynn made it really easy. Go to your Atahualpa theme options/Body, Text and Links, and look at the body style. The default is white, #ffffff. A light gray would be #cccccc. If you're not familiar with the colors used in webpages, check out http://www.digitdesigns.com/colrPick/framePic.htm. Remember, you need the # when entering a color code.

When I created my blog I flipped the colors from black-on-white to white-on-black. My problem is that this messes up the calendar widget and I haven't been able to figure out where/how to fix it. You can see the result on my site. Can someone please clue me in to how to get the calendar's title and no-activity dates to show? Thanks.

Wow, thanks for all the speedy help!
That's exactly what I wanted. I assumed the "body" section was for the background of the frames or something. But thinking about it now, of course, you can do those individually so there wouldn't be a need for that.
Thanks again.

See Wordpress Site Admin -> Appearance -> Atahualpa Theme Options
These are not files but clickable links in the Wordpress admin area.

I cannot get the background color to change either?
I have typed in the following in the body style section of the options: font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 0.8em; color: #000000; background: #CCCCFF;
Then I click to save changes, but the background color never changes.

In sarge's case, he had two background:#xxxxxx; in the Body style and the second one was background:#FFFFFF; which overrode the first. Removing the second allowed the first color choice to be applied

Atahualpa333 Theme...URGENT help required please...I copied and pasted a table and some content from another site into one of my pages. Since then my entire background colour has gone black, with the exception of the side-bars...
http://www.earlnightingale.com.au/military_network/
I have overwritten the "style.css" file from an earlier saved copy, but this hasn't helped.
I have also checked the settings in admin and they are all showing the correct setting for white...I desperately need to fix this can you please assist?
Best regards,
Steve

Pheww! I added...background: #ffffff; to "Layout container style" and it is back to white, yet strangely this parameter wasn't in there before...Now it appears that the whole site is sitting within a border, which wasn't there before and which I don't need...The spacing also seems to have crunched UP all the linefeeds/spacing on the posts and also the spacing/padding between the sidebar segments...If you can advise how I fix this this I would greatly appreciate it...Thanks, Steve

do you have a copy of the style.css you deleted? can you get a copy? If so , replace the one that is there so you poick up all your previous changes then add teh background.
Although, I'm not sure hy you were editing the style.css in the first place since you could have made the changes in the options and they would carry over from release to release. Atahualpa is not at release 3.4.4

No, I overwrote the style sheet out of desperation...I wasn't attempting to edit the stylesheet...this environment is not what I do. I attempted to change everything in admin, but nothing worked. The problem I still have is that there is now for the same inexplicable reason that the whole thing changed in the first place, is that I now have a border around this site, which I don't want and also all the spacing/LF's have changed across the site including the spacing between the LH/RH panels. I am thinking at the moment that it may have something to do with the WYSIWYG files sitting in my root directory...actually, I have no idea, just desperately looking for a reason why it happened in the first place, but more importantly, how I can change it back to what it was...The environment is superb and has served me well until now...Should I maybe delete something in the database that I did and saved today?...just looking to resolve it...I guess you can almost see the blood pouring out of my eyes right now??? Best regards, Steve

Again on this old threat..
I would like to change the background color !, BUT only the outsides (left and right) of the blog.
because if i change the background at : Atahualpa theme options/Body, Text and Links > body style in #cccccc, for instance, i get this grey color also inside... after the logo and on the text side too...
just want to have the outsides
http://farioli.fr/mondes/
Scuse if this question have still been answered...
Best Regards,
Daniel

the reason you get the color on the inside is that you haven't set a background color for the center, so it is transparent - go to ATO->Style & edit CENTER COLUMN->Center column style and add 'background: #ffffff;' which is white. You will probably want to do this to the sidebars also
